Keyboard shortcuts

Every keyboard shortcut of the editor and the course player, sorted by task. On a Mac, use Cmd where the table says Ctrl.

You can do everything in the Studio with the mouse. Shortcuts just make common steps faster. This page lists all of them, sorted by what you want to do.

  • On a Mac: press Cmd wherever this page says Ctrl.
  • In the German interface the keys are called Strg, Umschalt and Entf.
  • In the editor: hover over a button in the ribbon; the tooltip shows its shortcut.
Shortcuts don't fire while you type in a text field or while a dialog or menu is open. Press Esc or click on the stage first.

If something doesn't work

A shortcut does nothing. The cursor is probably in a text field, or a dialog or menu is open. Press Esc or click on an empty spot of the stage, then try again.

The browser does something else instead (for example a bookmark or a new window). Some browsers keep certain key combinations for themselves. Use the button in the ribbon instead; its tooltip shows the shortcut.
